《Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire》

Goblet of Fire finds Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) back for his fourth year at Hogwarts Academy. Things are getting heavier for the lad: He's having vivid dreams about Lord Voldemort being revived in the flesh. On top of that, the school is hosting the legendary Tri-Wizard Tournament, in which three aspiring magicians will compete to win a fancy blue cup (plus bragging rights), which brings two foreign schools -- one a collection of brutish Russian guys, another a group of breathless French fairy queens -- into Hogwarts for the term. While the tournament is meant for older kids, naturally the undersized Potter will find his way into the mix. On top of that, Harry's got some raging hormones, which has him swooning for fellow student Cho (Katie Leung), while Ron (Rupert Grint) tries in vain to suppress his budding love for Hermione (Emma Watson). This comes to a head of sorts during a formal dance, one of the film's most memorable scenes. And all the while, Voldemort inches closer to Harry.

My favourite movie- Harry Potter 5

《Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix》

Once again, I believe that the series is only getting better with each progressive movie. I attended a preview screening tonight and was completely blown away by the movie. While quite a bit of detail was lost in the movie, how can you really expect a three hour movie to capture what takes Rowling hundreds of pages to explain? This said, Yates did a great job capturing the spirit of the book, and he had me on my seat from the first scene all the way through the end of the movie. I cried, I laughed, and I am pretty sure there were a few times where I couldn't breathe from the tension.

What really made the movie for me was the talent of the actors. As expected, the older cast members deliver some of the best acting England has to offer. Sidenote: there is something about Emma Thompson where every time she cries in a movie, I start tearing up myself. I was especially impressed with how much Daniel, Emma (Watson), and Rupert have improved their acting since the last movie. Having come from seeing Daniel in Equus two weeks ago, I was expecting a lot from him. Even after seeing him display more intensity than I thought possible on stage, he surprised me in Phoenix. His emotions were so raw and genuine that I literally got goosebumps.

Well done to the cast and crew!

《Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows》

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is the epic conclusion to the movie series, and the final piece of the Harry Potter lore. It was a great and heart touching send off, with many tears shed.

The movie clocks in at 2 hours and 10 minutes, but I really wanted it to be much longer than that. For a final movie that says good bye to the characters, a lot was cut out from the book, and many deaths of important characters( not spoiling who ) were not, how do I say, good enough. You'll see.

Reading the book, I almost cried because the preparation for the epic battle was awesome, and the battle itself ( in the book ) was explosive, full of action, and full of tears, laughter, and danger.

In the movie however, the battles take place in the background, while the Harry and the crew go and hunt onward. This scaled the epicness back for me, and had me wanting more. The book explained much more in detail, and I hadn't read the book, I would have been lost. My friend hadn't, and all he did was ask questions after the film was over.

The movie was a good time, a sad time, and a good enough send off to this series of wizards and witches. I just wish it had more substance, more to give the series an epic final goodbye, like the Lord of the Rings series did. I'll take it for what it is, and this film will be remembered for a long time.

《Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince》

As a fan of the books and films, I was truly impressed with how The Half-Blood Prince turned out.

The nature of this Harry Potter is supposed to be dark and mysterious, which I admit it is in some places but it seems like they loaded this one with more humor than the rest. Sometimes subtle, other times just outright hilarious, I guarantee you will laugh. That's not to say there's no action though. There's plenty of that to go around. Not to mention the new romances that are a constant source of the humor.

The returning cast did wonderfully as well as the newcomers such as Jim Broadbent acting as Professor Slughorn. Broadbent really got into character and I believe he is exactly like Rowling describes in her books. Other newcomers Dave Legeno as Fenrir Greyback and Helen McCrory as Malfoy's Mom have smaller parts but portray their characters well for how much room they were given. One thing I have to say is I was surprised at Rupert Grint's level of acting in this one, I don't know if was just being held back or if he just improved that much but it's obvious he's going places.

The fans of the book series won't be disappointed either. They managed to stay very true to the book while keeping it a reasonable length and filling in all the information you need. But I daresay that if you've never read the books you may be surprised and saddened at the ending.

Best Movie Watched In this Month

Looper

I would have thought it doubtful that anyone could have anything new to add to the sci-fi sub category of time travel movies. After watching Looper yesterday, i'm happy to report that Rian Johnson has removed those doubts and given me hope that sci-fi in Hollywood can be more than just empty spectacle.

First off i would say, don't get discouraged from watching the film if you think its going to be too complex or difficult to follow. To follow the story and recognise characters motivations does require a little concentration, but not to the point that you wont enjoy the action beats and other more visceral elements.

The story is well constructed, information and plot points are presented at an entertaining and well judged pace. There are some nice little throw away visual references and metaphors which, if you catch them, add a nice texture to the story and stop it feeling too clinical in its plotting.

The script is tight, hard edged and very dry in its humour, the actors are fantastic. I think its fair to say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is well on his way to being "one to watch", Bruce Willis pops back to life here, clearly enjoying himself again, (although i wouldn't say this is solely a Bruce Willis movie in that definition).

This is a brilliant movie experience, its an wholly original and entertaining idea, that the writer/director has managed to successfully transpose to film without, it would appear to a layman, pressure or interference from external sources.

No matter how much of a good time you will have watching this film (and you will), Hollywood could stand to learn much more from it.

The Watch 

It's got a great cast, an interesting setup, some hilarious dialogue… and space aliens. The Watch is stocked with immature humor, gross-out gags and crass conversations as one would expect, but once the otherworldly visitors appear, it simply doesn't gel. The concept of defending against an extraterrestrial invasion has been successfully merged with humor before (see Men in Black, Mars Attacks! and Attack the Block), but here it feels like an afterthought, neither authentic nor necessary in conveying a story of misfit buddies attempting to protect their town. There are a few undeniably funny moments of vulgarity styled after the laughs often found in the works of Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen, but these segments feel misplaced in a film that can't wrap itself around a sensible plot to showcase the comedy.

Why is He famous

Originally famous as Francis Ford Coppola's nephew, Nicolas Cage sought out his own fame by literally creating a name for himself and a complimentary set of screen personas.

Weather Man is my most favorit movie of him. It is talking about a Chicago weather man, separated from his wife and children, debates whether professional and personal success are mutually exclusive.It is more of a parable than a story; it just goes on and on and on, and the only point is to endure. It's not very uplifting, but sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's sad; sometimes hopeful, and sometimes melancholy. But that's life.

The Expendables

Audrina and I recently went to cinema to watch “The Expendables”

Maybe some people can not imagine the shock when Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, standing side by side in the same lens look. It is really humbling than any gorgeous special effects scenes.

I always thought that the film is a multi-sensory integration Art, gives a perfect experience in visual, auditory, and psychologically, so good movie can bring a singular travel - people tickets to the cinema, buy the sensory experience. Especially commercial films, it should focus on the sensory stimulation more than art films.

Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone looked at each other and smiled.
